We love to travel, cook, and eat and this blog is a little bit about all those things.
In August 2007 we (two people, one dog) packed up four suitcases and one dog crate and headed to Siena Italy to fulfill our dream of living, working, traveling, and studying in Italy. We had an amazing opportunity to travel from the canals of Venice to the markets of Palermo stopping away to enjoy the sights! You can read all about our Italian adventures here.
We are now back in the U.S., living in Southern California and enjoying the ability to cook and eat foods we could not get it Italy! You can check out some of the things we are cooking and have cooked here.
While I (Ashley) am just an amateur cook, Reed is a professionally trained chef currently working at the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort and Spa. To read more about Reed, click here.
That leaves Oliver, also known as Mr. O. Don’t worry about him, he is the lucky beneficiary of a number of “dog adapted” recipes/experiments made especially for him. Some of his favorite meals, include grilled salmon; meatloaf with kale, spinach, and chickpeas; and sweet potato/turkey meatballs.
In September 2008, we added the newest member of our family, Radda, named after the town of Radda in Chianti outside of Siena. Radda was adopted from Helen Woodward Animal Center through Iams Home 4 the Holidays, a worldwide pet adoption drive started at Helen Woodward Animal Center in 1999. The goal of this year’s adoption drive is to find loving adoptive forever homes for 1 million orphaned cats and dogs!
